Day One Hundred-Fifty Three

                                      'Student Snapshot'

<6 x 6 oil on panel
40.00 + 6.00 s + h

I took dozens of photos of my former students in order to complete a series of 12 x 12 oil portraits before I retired from teaching art in 2008.   I dug those reference photos out, and attempted to do some more creative interpretations in my newer style.   This is a young man in my beginning Art Foundations class.  He was nice enough to be one of my subjects, although I didn't include him in the original group of paintings.

  1. I really like this painting! I like seeing your brushstrokes and the warm skin tones are beautiful. Well done!
