Day 26

Day 26 of the 30/30 challenge

I always enjoyed the shape of this bowl.  I love the perwinkle color, too.

These new apples (for me, anyway) are called ENVY, and they are really wonderful.  You can't find them just everywhere, but it is worth looking for them at your supermarket.....

Pink Ladies painting #98

My favorite apple, by far !  It used to be 'fuji' until I tried these babies... I love 'em.  Fuji apples taste too sweet to me now, although I love the crispness.   The girls have a cut up apple in a ziploc to eat on the trip home (about 20 minutes) every time they come over.   We have so many traditions like that ... ha h a

3 timed apples... 10 minutes each.... reviewing what I've learned from Carol Marine, and others..... Sort of . 'back to the ole drawing board' ha ha ha

Taking a day to redo some of the exercises that need to be reviewed..... timed paintings are a good way to keep fresh, use larger brushes, make quicker decisions about shape and value, and not get too "fussy" with the images... starting with very simple subjects is best..    I've decided to do this for awhile, so I can reinforce some of the things I've learned along the way......

Creative Wednesdays with my sis.....

Yesterday my sis and I got together for our weekly Creatathon.....  She worked on a ruffled skirt for her grandbaby, and I started a large canvas in acrylics.   I worked most of the day and pretty much just got the underpainting finished.  Boy, it's different working big.  I'm not used to my paintings taking that long.... ha  !
I had found some cute fabrics to work with, and brought them home to start some skirts for my little ones......  Ruffles are a girls best friend, right?
WELL, I didn't get a picture to post yet, so stay tuned for MORE TO COME.....

Meanwhile, here's a 'blast from the past'--- just couldn't resist !

My favorite lunch has become apple, sliced, with loads of peanut butter on each bite..... I love JIF.... Anyhoo, it's really nutritious, and tastes, to me, almost like a carmel apple. Don't ya just love that tart zing ??? I could eat peanut butter on a rock, I think.... ha ha !!!

Day One Hundred-Eight

                                           'Surrounded'

8 x 8 oil on panel
50.00 + 6.00 s + h

I found this cute pitcher, and again, I couldn't resist.   (I don't even look for the sugar bowls, I don't know if this had one or not)  Well, I loved the color, it seems as if it's from the 1970's or earlier, and I also loved the cool squared off shape.  I thought the color would go nicely with my shiny red pink lady apples. I always ask my daughter's opinion on paintings if she's around at the time.  She wants to see more of a connection between the elements in the paintings, and I know she's right.  Tracey's a photographer and has a particularly good eye for composition, so I value her suggestions on such things....The pitcher and apples are not 2 things that would relate so much... Oh, well, I'll have to spend more time on thinking about that too !!!

Day One Hundred-Six

                                       'Two Apples a Day'

8 x 8 oil on panel
50.00 + 6.00 s + h

Pink Ladies have these fabulous red skins.  The highlights are so visible that they are fun to paint, so I always really shine them up...  I added the blue color to make it interesting.  It's good to have these on hand to paint, because then maybe we'll eat an apple for a snack instead of another Christmas cookie !
